Federal Appeals Court Stops President Obama's Unilateral Immigration Plan
November 10, 2015WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, Congresswoman Lynn Jenkins (KS-02) responded to a 5th Circuit Federal Appeals Court ruling, 2-1, against President Obama’s executive overreach on immigration, a move that would have provided millions of illegal immigrants with work permits:
“I am pleased the Court upheld the United States’ Constitution in ruling against President Obama’s executive overreach on immigration. There is no doubt our immigration system is broken, but unilateral and unconstitutional action by the President cannot be the way forward. We are a nation of laws, but President Obama’s plan would reward people who came here illegally. I will keep fighting to curb President Obama’s continued executive power grabs and remind him that he cannot govern through executive actions with his pen and phone.”
