Congresswoman Jenkins Calls For Investigation Into Sale Of Chicago Stock Exchange

WASHINGTON, D.C.– Yesterday, Congresswoman Jenkins (KS-02) and 45 other Members of the U.S. House of Representatives sent a letter to the Department of Treasury’s Committee on Foreign Investment in the United States (CFIUS) in regard to a Chinese firm, the Chongqing Casin Enterprise Group, agreeing to terms in acquiring the Chicago Stock Exchange.

“I believe it is imperative that the CFIUS completes a thorough investigation of Chongqing Casin Enterprise Group,” said Congresswoman Jenkins. “The firm has deep ties with the Chinese government and while the Chinese government continues to operate less than transparently, it is essential that any investment stemming from China into a major part of the US economy is comprehensively examined.”
